changes are tough to take...

today we found out our main coach and our assistant coach would be leaving our team this october. after 3 years of playing for/with them, this is kind of a shock. i always imagined these two people to be a huge part of my senior year. i imagined every last tournament and every last match as something i would do with them. now it will be weird having a new coach for all these things.

well, at least i am happy that both of them got really good offers from the naval academy. they are starting a new tennis program there. it still amazes me that my school did not do more to keep these two people on their staff. it is really hard to find coaches that love their jobs as much as they do.

whoever comes in as a new coach will have some big shoes to fill...and he/she will have a rough time adjusting to the team.

"burn after reading" you guys gotta see it

here's why:
- brad pitt actually manages to be really funny.
- john malkovich is brilliant as the neurotic CIA analyst who is trying to deal with idiocy surrounding him.
- the storyline is unlike anything i've seen in a comedy. on the one hand, you have the details that make this movie a bitter criticism against our self-comforting idiocy. on the other hand, you have the hilarious relationships between the characters that take you from "nothing" to chaos then again to "nothing".
- in the end, you don't waste the $10 you pay on the ticket. it's better to spend your money on "burn after reading" than on "tropical thunder" or "the women".
